The Challenge
Vienna Kang Advocates approached us as they were unhappy with their IT infrastructure and their previous IT provider’s support. We looked to simplify their current network and migrate all systems into the cloud for better uptime, with the agility to work from anywhere due to having multiple offices.
Vienna Kang was also experiencing long wait times for issues support tickets’ to be picked up and resolved by their current I.T. Provider, hindering their ability to operate efficiently, which was one of the primary concerns raised by the management of the firm during our initial discovery session.
The Solution
- Migrate file shares from traditional file shares to SharePoint
- Access controlled Libraries for granular levels of permissions for sensitive data.
- Enroll all machines with Intune for easy management and hot desking capabilities.
- Maintain agreed SLA for support requests.
Firstly, we had to plan the migration to ensure minimal downtime and work on a hierarchical file structure to ensure that sensitive data is accessed only by specific departments. We had many challenges with this due to their previous IT Provider only supplying minimal amounts of information to work with. As a result, we migrated file shares and mail incrementally until we were happy that all of the data was migrated successfully, leaving only the last few remaining days’ worths of changes to be synced across.
We ensured the migration cut-over and required work was done over a weekend to keep downtime to a minimum. Once we had migrated to Exchange Online and SharePoint, we redeployed all machines with Intune to ensure devices were easy to manage and make hot desking simple for staff.
Now, support requests are picked up, assigned, and worked on within the agreed SLA, and their infrastructure allows them to work securely, seamlessly and most importantly, efficiently.
The Benefit
Since onboarding with us, Vienna Kang Advocates have registered over 500 tickets into our service desk, 100% of which have been attended to within agreed SLA times.
This has meant that the day-to-day issues of the employees are attended to and resolved quickly.
As a result, not only is productivity within the firm greater, it has freed up management to focus on the more important aspects of the firm.
